The Quantum and the Lotus

The Quantum and the Lotus
Mathieu Richard and Trinh Xuan Thuan

The Quantum and the LotusI was intrigued to find out a little more about Mathieu Richard, having read his book Motionless Journey. I wanted to find out a little more about this ex-scientist who had become a Buddhist Monk.

This book appears to offer the perfect opportunity. It documents a conversation between Richard and Trinh Xuan Thuan who has made a similar transition, perhaps travelling in the other direction. Born a Buddhist in Vietnam, Thuan has followed his passion for science and become an astrophysicist at CalTech in the US.

I’m currently reading the book and a review will appear here soon.
